The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing and empowering Black and African American professionals within the human resources field. NAAAHR provides a global platform for HR practitioners and allies to connect, share insights, exchange best practices, and drive thought leadership on issues that impact career growth, organizational equity, and the broader global workforce. This is a very exciting time for NAAAHR Chicago. I encourage you to get involved with NAAAHR Chicago as we launch new initiatives. Whether by attending events, contributing to discussions, or nominating yourself for a leadership role, your participation is vital to our collective success. Our History
Incorporated in the State of Maryland in September 1998, NAAAHR was co-sponsored by the Baltimore Black Human Resources Network and the Washington DC Black Human Resources Network. NAAAHR was formed by a coalition of 17 local organizations of Black and African American professionals and consultants from many cities across the country.
Today, NAAAHR’s professional community is made up of over 40,000 members, network affiliates, partners and sponsors, with 25 active chapters and interest groups throughout the US (including the US Virgin Islands). Many of the members are affiliated with other professional and trade organizations, however, find their local NAAAHR Chapter as a valuable resource for shared learning, professional development, expanded networking, and personal growth.
Our Mission
The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources exists to provide a global forum for the career development for the community of People of Color and the African Diaspora in the Human Resources profession.
NAAAHR is uniquely designed to network work and build partnership with organizations that align with our mission and goals – and that is to be a leading provider of Human Resources Professionals in the areas of: Networking, Career Advancement and Career Opportunities through our Job Board, Educational and Professional Development, Mentorship and Coaching Tools, Professional Cohorts and Certification Training, Webinars and LinkedIn Live Session, HR Tips and Advertisement Resources for Corporate Branding.
